Amid reports of violence spreading in Jammu just ahead of Republic Day (26 January), security forces on Saturday (10 January) recovered a consignment of weapons from a forward area near the International Border in Samba district of Jammu. It is feared that this consignment of weapons has been dropped by Pakistan through a drone.
Sources told ABP News that security forces have recovered two pistols, three magazines, 16 rounds and one grenade in this consignment from near the international border with Pakistan. Sources say that this recovery has been made amid increased security to foil any attempt by terrorists to disrupt the upcoming Republic Day celebrations.
BSF launched search operation
He said that after receiving information about suspicious activity of a drone from across the border, a joint team of Border Security Force and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a search operation in Palura village of Ghagwal late on Friday night. As soon as the search operation reached the bank of a drain, a packet wrapped in a yellow tape was found there and they opened it with the help of the bomb disposal squad, from which a large number of weapons were recovered.
Pakistan planning to carry out infiltration
In fact, at this time, like North India, Jammu is also witnessing severe cold and fog, taking advantage of which Pakistan is not only planning to carry out infiltration but is also planning to drop weapons from drones and deliver them to the terrorists and their helpers sitting in Jammu.
Let us tell you that on the first day of the new year also a similar act was done in Pakistan. At that time also, Pakistan had sent weapons through drones in Jammu region. Security forces had recovered ammunition and many weapons during the search operation.
