US Iran Peace Talks: While on one hand expectations have increased regarding the peace talks between America and Iran going to be held in Islamabad on Saturday, on the other hand Pakistan is in no mood to take any kind of risk. Despite the two-week ceasefire, tension remains in the Middle East, hence Pakistan is on alert regarding the security of the delegation coming from Iran via air route, especially in view of the possible activities of Israel.
Keeping security in mind, Pakistan has deployed its fighter aircraft, C-130 transport aircraft, refueling tankers and AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) in the Middle East direction. Experts believe that this level of preparation also reflects the increasing international pressure on Islamabad, because this meeting is considered very important for regional peace.
Pakistan in action
In view of the potential threats, Islamabad has almost been transformed into a fortress. Defense systems have been fully activated in the southern and western airspace. Pakistan minister Mohsin Naqvi said elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure “full-proof security” of all foreign guests.
Vice President J.D. The American delegation led by Vance has left for Islamabad, where important peace talks are going to be held between America and Iran. From Iran’s side, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will participate in the talks, which makes this conversation even more important.
Islamabad became a cantonment
The special thing is that this is the first time after the Iranian Revolution that such a big and high-level face-to-face meeting is going to take place between the two countries, due to which it is being considered historic. This meeting is not just a diplomatic initiative but also a big test for Pakistan, where both its security system and international credibility are at stake.
After Iran’s Air Force suffered heavy losses in the war, new challenges regarding security have emerged. In such a situation, Pakistan has deployed a large number of its fighter planes to ensure the security of the Iranian delegation reaching Persian Gulf and Islamabad. This preparation of Pakistan is also considered important because if there is any kind of obstacle in the peace talks or the talks get derailed, then any possible military action can be stopped immediately.
Meanwhile, the rhetoric between Pakistan and Israel had also intensified recently. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif had even called Israel the “devil” and a “curse for humanity”, to which Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu reacted strongly. However, Khwaja Asif later withdrew his statement and deleted the post. Amidst such a tense environment, Pakistan has devoted huge resources for the air security of Iranian officials, which clearly shows that it wants to make this peace talks successful at any cost.
