Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday (October 2, 2025) that the aim of Operation Sindoor was not to start war by increasing tension with Pakistan. He said that it is happy that the Indian Army successfully achieved all the goals of Operation Sindoor and our fight against terrorism will continue. Rajnath Singh has given this statement five months after the 3-4 day fight between India and Pakistan.
On Thursday, on the occasion of Dussehra, he performed arms worship at a military base in Bhuj, Gujarat. During this, he said this while addressing the soldiers. Rajnath Singh said that Pakistan tried unsuccessfully to penetrate India’s air defense system during Operation Sindoor, but the Indian Army exposed the Pakistani air defense system and gave a message to the world that it could cause heavy damage to its opponent.
He said, ‘During Operation Sindoor, Pakistan tried unsuccessfully to penetrate India’s defense system from Leh to Sir Creek. In its retaliation, the Indian Army completely exposed the Pakistani air defense system and gave a message to the world that the Indian forces can cause heavy damage to Pakistan whenever they want and wherever they want.
Rajnath Singh also said that India took restraint as its military action was against terrorism. He said, ‘It was not the aim of operation sindoor.’ In response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, India started Operation Sindoor on midnight of 6-7 May, targeting terrorist structures in Pakistan-controlled areas. After this, the two countries were attacked each other for 4 days and on May 10, there was a ceasefire with consent to stop military action.
Rajnath Singh said that in the 1965 battle, the Indian Army had demonstrated the ability to reach Lahore. Today, in 2025, Pakistan should remember that a way to go to Karachi passes through this head creek.
