New Lexus ES India launch tomorrow: Expected price, features

Japanese Automaker Lexus revealed the next-generation Lexus ES globally back in April 2025. And now, the luxury sedan will make its India debut tomorrow. In its eighth generation, the new Lexus ES features a completely new design, a new interior, additional features, added safety and much more. The new ES will be bought to India via the CKD route and the prices are expected to start from Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, it will rival the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series LWB and Audi A6 in the Indian market. Ahead of its launch tomorrow, let’s take a look at everything we know so far.

New Lexus ES

PowertrainTalking about the powertrain first, globally, the Lexus ES is offered with hybrid and all-electric powertrains, with the hybrid range expected to continue in India, while an EV launch remains uncertain. The ES 300h is available with 197hp 2.0-litre and 201hp 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid options, while the ES 350h uses the 2.5-litre unit producing 247hp. All hybrid versions come with an e-CVT and are available with front- or all-wheel drive setup. The electric lineup includes the ES 350e and 550e. The 350e uses a 77kWh battery with a 224hp front-mounted motor, while the 550e gets a 74.7kWh battery and dual motors producing 343hp. Claimed range figures are 685km for the 350e and 610km for the 550e.

Rear design

designThe new Lexus ES features a redesigned front with L-shaped DRLs and indicators arranged in a Z-like pattern, while the main headlamps are positioned lower within gloss black elements. The spindle grille has been replaced by a smoother central section with a smaller lower air intake featuring patterned detailing. The bonnet gets sharper lines extending into the fenders, and vertical air channels at the bumper edges aid airflow while adding width.In profile, the ES adopts a more streamlined look with a defined shoulder line, an aerodynamic crease with gloss black accents, flush door handles and new alloy wheels. The sloping roofline with a Kamm-tail design improves airflow. At the rear, a full-width LED light bar with illuminated ‘LEXUS’ lettering is the key element, along with a sharper boot edge and L-shaped reflectors. The sedan has also grown in size, measuring 5,140mm in length, 1,920mm in width and 1,555-1,560mm in height, making it 165mm longer, 55mm wider and up to 115mm taller. The wheelbase has increased by 80mm to 2,950mm.

Interior and featuresThe new Lexus ES adopts a cleaner cabin layout with a greater focus on digital controls, reducing the use of physical buttons. Most functions are accessed through a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen with over-the-air update capability, while the center console features touch-capacitive controls. The dashboard uses a layered, horizontal design with soft-touch materials, metallic accents and ambient lighting. It follows a driver-focused layout with minimal clutter.A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster sits ahead of the driver, paired with a three-spoke steering wheel that retains physical controls. A head-up display is also offered. The center console has a more open design with integrated storage and cupholders, while trim options include wood, metal and piano black finishes. The ES comes with powered front seats with memory, heating and ventilation, while rear passengers benefit from added space and reclining seats, with optional ottoman and massage functions. Features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting, a Mark Levinson sound system and an electrochromic glass roof. Other equipment includes an electronic parking brake, wireless charging, USB ports, multi-zone climate control and an ADAS suite.
