‘Nehru wanted to build Babri Masjid with government money, but…’, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s big claim

In Baroda, Gujarat, the country’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has given a big statement raising questions on the role of Babri Masjid and the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. He has said that the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru wanted to rebuild Babri Masjid, that too with public money, but the then Home Minister Sardar Patel did not allow his plan to succeed.

The Defense Minister had reached a unity march organized in Sadli village of Gujarat. During this, he discussed Patel and his role, and also made shocking political claims on Nehru and Babri Masjid.

‘Patel had refused Nehru’s proposal’

Rajnath Singh said, Nehru had suggested to build Babri Masjid with public funds. Patel had clearly refused this. Nehru had suggested spending the money raised after Patel’s death on building wells and roads. An attempt was made to suppress his legacy. Patel was a generous and fair leader in the true sense. He never did appeasement politics.

He said that in the presidential election in 1946, most of the votes fell in favor of Nehru, but on the insistence of Gandhiji, Patel withdrew his name, and Nehru became the president. After this he became Prime Minister.

He said that Patel’s legacy was always suppressed, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave Patel the respect he deserved by building the Statue of Unity. Nehru gave himself Bharat Ratna, but Patel was not given any honor at that time. Here are some examples of his legacy being ignored.

‘Modi truly connected Kashmir with India’

He said that if Patel’s words had been accepted, the Kashmir problem would not have become a burden for the country for a long time. Patel took strict steps at the time of need, due to which Hyderabad was merged. Apart from this he said that removing 370 was not easy. But by taking this step, Prime Minister Modi truly connected India.

The Defense Minister said, not a single penny was taken from the government for the reconstruction of Somnath temple. The entire money was raised from the public. Ram temple of Ayodhya is also built with the cooperation of the public. This is an example of real secularism. Let us tell you, on the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, it was organized from Karamsad to the Statue of Unity.
