A day before the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as part of a historical development, the Naxalites have announced to leave the armed struggle temporarily immediately. The Naxalite’s Central Committee Communist Party of India Maoist spokesperson Abhay has been informed that the Naxalites have decided to immediately abandon armed struggle for peace talks with the Government of India. At the same time, the problems of the people facing harassment will be resolved through public struggle on the path of peace.
A letter issued by the Maoist organization, on which the date of August 15 has been written, was released, saying that the statement is being released late due to several reasons and the Maoists had started serious and honest efforts to carry out “peace talks” with the government from the last week of March 2025. At the same time, on May 10, the General Secretary of the Maoist Naxalite organization issued a statement through spokesperson Comrade Abhay, in which he proposed a ceasefire and sought a month’s time to discuss the possible options for leaving arms with the central leadership.
Siege and encounter intensified since January 2024
According to the Naxalite organization, the central government had not reacted to it and intensified the siege and encounter operations released since January 2024. At the same time, thousands of armed police force personnel were deployed and 28 Naxalites including top commander Basavaraju of Naxalites were killed in a large operation of CRPF on 21 May, after which the Naxalites decided not to leave the peace process incomplete and temporarily stop the peace process and continue to resolve public problems through coordination with all political parties and public interest organizations.

According to Naxal organization spokesperson Comrade Abhay, the Naxal leadership is ready to pursue peace talks with Union Home Minister Amit Shah or his representatives and discussions are going on with the cadres and leadership within the organization, as well as all the Naxalites in the whole country demanded to interact and coordinate in 1 month, as well as the Naxalite is ready to do the Naxalite as well as to do the initial talks through video conferences.
Target to end Naxalism by March 2026
The statement also said that Naxalite is committed to creating a peaceful atmosphere in the areas affected by violence.
