National Cooperative Policy: Amit Shah said on the unveiling new cooperative policy- the face of rural India will change

Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the new National Cooperative Policy 2025 on Thursday (July 25, 2025). This policy has been made by talking to all the stake holders with 48 members under the leadership of former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu. After unveiling this policy, Amit Shah addressed that 50 crore citizens have been targeted to make an active cooperative member.

Amit Shah said that if I remember exactly, then for the first time in 2002, the Government of India had brought a cooperative policy. At that time, there was a BJP government, Atal ji was the Prime Minister. Today, when the second cooperative policy has also come, at that time there is a BJP government and Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister. The one who understands the development of India can form a cooperative policy.

The first dilapidated condition of the cooperative sector

He said that the Modi government has set a target that in 2027, the economy of the third number will be formed. Everyone should have equal development and the development of the country with the development of all, this is the idea of India. The cooperative area was earlier in a dilapidated condition. Today, the member of the smallest unit of the country has stood up with pride and self -confidence, this is a big thing. Today the cooperative sector is standing in a line with the corporate sector.

The Union Minister said that for this we formed a 48 -member committee, Suresh Prabhu became its president. Talked with all the stake holders. The policy was made after negotiating with RBI and NABARD. The capacity of development of 130 crore people is in cooperatives. Gave ration to 80 crore people, gave home, gave electricity, now there is a problem in front of them, what to do now? For whom he used to run earlier, the Modi government gave it in 10 years.

Work with small capital in cooperative sector

Amit Shah said that now the problem in front of him is what to do, a vacuum has stood in front of him. He wants to work hard, but he does not have capital. Therefore, the scope to work with small capital is in the cooperative sector. This goal is to make a cooperative at least in every village. The cooperative unit that is working in rural areas has to be strengthened. Strong cooperative ecosystem is to make the unit live. The members of the committees have to increase and promote cooperative in new areas as well.

Work done at 58 points out of 83 points

He said that he has come in health, tourism, taxi, green energy and insurance sectors. In the taxi and insurance sector, they will move forward very quickly. The Modi government is ready to help the sector, but the unit should be self -sufficient, it is important. Out of 83 points, 58 points have been worked, 3 points have been completed, 22 points will be a new beginning. By 2034, we have set a target to increase the cooperative sector three times the contribution to the country’s GDP.

He further said that 50 crore citizens have been targeted to make an active cooperative member. Monitoring will also be done for transparency. 5 model cooperative villages will be built in every tehsil. Today, the Ministry of Cooperatives is fully prepared for implementation of new policy. The method of functioning will change through computerization. We will also keep provision for necessary changes in the law every 10 years. Be it a balanced cooperative development, its roadmap has been built.

Driver will get direct profit

In his address, Amit Shah said that we have made the necessary preparations to erect the cooperative bank, equivalent to commercial banks. Young cooperative will be a career, will create such a reliable atmosphere. All states have accepted the model by lodge without any politics. We are confident that we will bring the tax year before changing the tax year. The driver will get direct profits.
