What do state wise figures say?

  • The SIR process has been carried out in Tamil Nadu. According to the figures that have come out, there were 6.41 crore voters before the SIR process. This figure has come down to 5.67 crores after the process. During this period, 1.02 crore voters have been removed. Names of 15.85% voters have been removed.
  • According to the figures revealed under the SIR process in Kerala, there were 2.79 crore voters before the SIR process. This figure has come down to 2.7 crores after the process. During this period 24.62 lakh voters have been removed. Names of 8.84% voters have been removed.
  • According to the figures revealed under the SIR process in Gujarat, there were 5.08 crore voters before the SIR process. This figure has come down to 4.40 crores after the process. During this period, 77.69 lakh voters have been removed. Names of 15.28% voters have been removed.
  • According to the figures revealed under the SIR process in Bihar, there were 7.89 crore voters before the SIR process. This figure has come down to 7.42 crores after the process. During this period, 68.66 lakh voters have been removed. Names of 8.7% voters have been removed.

  • According to the figures revealed under the SIR process in Goa, there were 11.85 lakh voters before the SIR process. This figure has come down to 10.58 lakh after the process. During this period 1.4 lakh voters have been removed. Names of 11.78% voters have been removed.
  • According to the figures revealed under the SIR process in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, there were 3.1 lakh voters before the SIR process. This figure has come down to 2.58 lakh after the process. During this period 69,283 voters have been removed. Names of 22.32% voters have been removed.
  • According to the figures revealed under the SIR process in Lakshadweep, there were 57,813 thousand voters before the SIR process. This figure has come down to 57,607 thousand after the process. During this period, 1,476 voters have been removed. Names of 22.32% voters have been removed.
  • According to the figures revealed under the SIR process in Puducherry, there were 10.22 lakh voters before the SIR process. This figure has come down to 9.44 lakh after the process. During this period 1.19 lakh voters have been removed. Names of 11.67% voters have been removed.

Election Commission removed names of voters on these grounds

The Election Commission adopted these parameters in a better way. The voters whose names have been added after the SIR process are all new voters. Apart from this, those whose names have been removed include those who were absent, have started living elsewhere, duplicate voters, eligible voters, and voters who have shifted to different places at the time of verification.
