Monsoon session: Lok Sabha could not run for the third consecutive day due to opposition’s uproar, proceedings adjourned for the day

During the monsoon session of Parliament, opposition parties in the Lok Sabha also created a ruckus in the House on Wednesday (July 23, 2025) on the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar. The proceedings were postponed for the day after twice the postponement due to the continuous uproar of the opposition.

After two adjournment of the house, the proceedings of the House started again at 2 pm, during this time, the opposition members continued the noise. Many opposition members were standing in their respective places and waving placards and some members came to Asan.

Chair postponed action till tomorrow

Amid the uproar, the presiding chairman Krishna Prasad Teenanti, while urging the opposition members to sit in his seats, said, “The important bill related to the tribal community of Goa is to be discussed in the House today.” In the Lok Sabha’s agenda today (23 July), ‘Adjustment Bill of representation of Scheduled Tribes in the constituencies of Goa State Assembly was listed, 2024’.

He said, “In the last two days we have lost the prized time. Let the bill be discussed. You cannot wave placards like this. Despite repeated requests, it seems that you (opposition members) do not want any discussion on Goa’s ST (Scheduled Tribes) community, it is very unfortunate.” Along with this, he adjourned the proceedings of the House till 11 am on Thursday (July 24, 2025).

Earlier, on Wednesday (July 23, 2025) on the third day of the monsoon session, members of the opposition parties started making uproar as soon as the proceedings of the lower house started. Opposition MPs reached near the posture and shouted slogans and waved placards, on which anti -SIR slogans were written.

He created a ruckus, demanding SIR exercise in Bihar, Pahalgam terror attack, stopping operation vermilion and some topics including mediation related claims of US President Donald Trump.

In the midst of noise in the House, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav answered some supplementary questions during the Question Hour. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla appealed to the opposition members to go to their place and let the House run. He told the opposition members, “Your behavior, conduct and methodology should be decent inside the Parliament and Parliament complex. The people of the country have sent you people to discuss their voice, difficulty of the people, challenges, issues and policies related to the country.

Om Birla warned the members who were creating a ruckus

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had strongly warned the members who were creating a ruckus that they would have to take decisive action against the MPs who bring placards in the House. When the ruckus did not stop, he adjourned the proceedings of the House till 12 noon at around 11.10 pm. When the meeting of the House started again at 12 noon, the Presiding Chairman Sandhya Rai presented the necessary documents in the House. Meanwhile, members of opposition parties came near the seat and started shouting slogans.

Presiding Chairman Sandhya Rai urged the members shouting slogans to go to their place and let the house go on. He said, “You are all very senior members. The dignity of the House understands the dignity and knows the role of the opposition. “He said, referring to the disruption in the Question Hour,” Today, due to noise for the third consecutive day, questions like railway could not be asked questions.

Rai said, “The whole country is watching you. The government wants discussion on your raised topics. Your conduct is not in conformity with the dignity of the House. ”

Sports Minister had introduced two bills in Lok Sabha, there was no discussion between uproar

Amid the uproar, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandavia introduced the National Sports Government Bill, 2025 and National Anti -Doping Amendment Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha. However, when the noise did not end, the presiding chairman adjourned the meeting till 2 pm.
