Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has cornered Prime Minister Narendra Modi while raising the issue of air pollution in the national capital Delhi. Rahul Gandhi said that there should be a detailed discussion on this issue in the winter session of Parliament starting from December 1, 2025.
He also demanded a concrete action plan to deal with air pollution and questioned why the Modi government was not showing any promptness or accountability on this issue.
Rahul Gandhi interacted with the women of the organization ‘Warrior Moms: Mothers of Clean Air’ on this issue and released its video on his WhatsApp channel. During this conversation, many women expressed concern about the health of their children due to air pollution.

The pain of children penetrates the hearts of mothers like the deepest wound.
I met some such courageous mothers fighting against pollution in Delhi – they are scared not only for their own children but for the future of the entire country.

He said, “Modi ji, children are suffocating in front of us. How can you remain silent? Why does your government show no urgency, no planning, no accountability? India needs an urgent, detailed discussion on air pollution and a concrete and practical action plan to deal with this health emergency.”
Emphasizing this, he said, “Our children deserve clean air, not excuses and distractions.”
What did Rahul Gandhi say about pollution in the video post?,
In another video post, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, “Everyone is affected by pollution, be it the poorest or the richest person living in Delhi.” “If you have 500 to 1,000 commercial units which are polluting Delhi, they have political power and the problem is that the average citizen is not organized at all. So, they have no political power,” he said.
Every mother I meet tells me the same thing: her child is growing up breathing toxic air. They are exhausted, scared and angry.

She told the women that they already have options when it comes to dealing with air pollution, but many people in India don’t have that option. You can go to the doctor, but there are many people who cannot go to the doctor.
