Meeting in Tihar Jail, then recovery in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Bangalore police arrested 4 accused

Bangalore police have arrested four people on charges of trying to recover Rs 1 crore from a businessman, calling themselves a member of the gang of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The accused threatened the businessman and warned him of kidnapping his son.

According to the police, the victim lodged a complaint on 9 July. He received several calls, which said that the calling Bishnoi is from the gang and his son will be picked up if he does not pay Rs 1 crore. The accused tried to intimidate the victim by showing Bishnoi’s old video and copying his voice.

Four accused arrested in 48 hours

In a joint action of the local police and the Central Crime Branch (CCB), the four accused were arrested in just 48 hours. Those arrested include Mohammad Rafiq of Bengaluru and three youths from Uttar Pradesh, Shishupal Singh, Wans Sachdev and Amit Chaudhary.

No relation with Lawrence Bishnoi gang

Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said that the accused have no real relation with Lawrence Bishnoi or his gang. He adopted Bishnoi’s name and style only to spread fear. Investigation has revealed that the mastermind of this conspiracy was Rafiq, who wanted to teach the businessman a lesson due to a personal rivalry.

The four accused have been booked under sections such as forced recovery, criminal intimidation and fake identity, currently all four are in police custody and investigation is going on. Police said that other cases are already going on against Mohammad Rafiq, a resident of Mavli in Bengaluru and he was lodged in Tihar Jail in Delhi for some time. In this jail, Rafiq came in contact with the other three accused and all four became friends.
