In the meeting of the Executive Committee of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani was unanimously elected president for the second time. A meeting of the Executive Committee of Jamiat was held on Wednesday (October 29, 2025) at Madani Hall, ITO, New Delhi, which was presided over by Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani. The Executive Committee meeting was attended by the Executive Committee members and special invited representatives of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind from across the country and several presentations were made.
In this meeting, contemporary burning issues like Waqf Amendment Act 2025, accusing Muslims of illegal infiltration, Palestine Peace Agreement and harassment of Muslim minorities in the current circumstances of the country were discussed in detail. Along with this, the post of Central President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind was announced for the new term.
Election held for the president of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind
In the meeting, according to Article 52 of the Constitution of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, the name of Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani was unanimously announced for the post of President for the new term. The executive committee of all the states had recommended his presidency for the next term. After which Maulana Mahmood Madani has been elected as the President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind for his second term of 2024-27.

After the election for the post of President, in the same meeting, Maulana Madani also took charge as per the Constitution and thus the new term was officially started. Earlier, details of elections of all the state units of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind to be held under the supervision of election boards were presented, which were approved. The Executive Committee also considered the non-completion of regional elections in Delhi, Telangana and Assam within the stipulated period and decided that the Boards are directed to complete the elections within a period of three months as per their discretion.
Central government targeted regarding illegal infiltrators
Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind President Maulana Madani spoke on issues like the current circumstances of the country, tightening of barriers for minorities, insulting their religious symbols and terminology, bulldozer actions, restrictions on religious freedom and campaign against Halal.
The Executive Committee discussed in detail the allegations of demographic change and infiltration of Muslims by the Government of India, especially Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, and described such statements as harmful for national unity, social harmony and constitutional equality.
The committee further said in its proposal that the Central Government has repeatedly said in writing in the Supreme Court and Parliament that it does not have any authentic number of illegal infiltrators, hence these allegations are based on lies. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind strongly refutes this inflammatory and divisive narrative. Through such allegations, an attempt is being made to make the Muslims of the entire country suspicious and untrustworthy. The sacrifices and services of Indian Muslims are so recorded in the bright chapters of national history that they do not need to express their loyalty to the country again and again.
PM, Home Minister warn to avoid communal rhetoric
Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind cautions the Prime Minister, Home Minister and political leaders to avoid making unconfirmed and communal statements. The Government of India should present transparent figures to the public. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has been strongly opposed to illegal infiltration in the country since the beginning and it believes that if any infiltration is taking place then the entire responsibility for it lies with the government and the Home Ministry. Blaming Muslims for this alleged infiltration is completely baseless.
Maulana Madani said that the government and the media are involved in violation of constitutional rights, their conduct is not only devoid of justice, honesty and nobility, but is completely contrary to these values. The aim of their efforts is to enslave Muslims in this country and become second class citizens, which is a long-term policy of the communal forces. On the other hand, it is also a matter of hope that the oppressed classes are working more continuously and diligently and Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind wants to carry forward such continuous efforts. Along with this, it is also hopeful that there is a section of the countrymen who share equally in our sorrows and pain.
Committee calls Umeed portal a threat to the religious identity of Waqf
In the resolution related to Waqf Act 2025 and Umeed Portal, the Executive Committee said that this Act is a serious threat to the religious identity of Waqf, hence Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind will continue to strongly oppose it at the constitutional, legal and democratic levels. Jamiat had raised objection from the beginning regarding the registration on ‘Umeed Portal’, but the Supreme Court has not banned it, hence there is a strong appeal to all the Waqf Mutawalli, Waqf institutions and responsible persons to complete the registration of their Waqf properties on the Umeed Portal on time so that any legal or administrative loss can be avoided. This meeting demands from the Government of India that the last date of registration should be extended for at least two years, so that the Mutawalli can complete this process satisfactorily.
Committee discussed Palestine peace agreement
The Committee, in its resolution relating to the Palestine Peace Agreement, states that peace in the Middle East is not possible unless a sovereign and independent Palestinian State is established according to the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital, and guarantees the religious status and security of all holy sites, including the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The meeting commends the sacrifices, steadfastness and struggle for freedom of the Palestinian people and welcomes Israel’s planned return to Palestine. Condemns in the strongest terms the massacre and the devastating siege of Gaza, which is contrary to the spirit of the recent peace agreement.
Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind calls upon the international community, especially the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and peace-loving countries, to ensure the establishment of a Palestinian state and the protection of the holy sites. Take effective action against illegal Jewish settlements, occupation and forced evictions. Provide immediate humanitarian assistance, medical care, education and rehabilitation to devastated Palestinians.
The Executive Committee has also appealed to the Government of India to continue to fully support the right to self-determination of the Palestinian people in accordance with its traditional foreign policy and to raise its voice for a just and permanent solution at every international forum.
