The country’s largest airline IndiGo is facing a serious operational crisis for the last two days. The company has admitted that a large number of flights are being delayed and cancelled, causing inconvenience to passengers. Indigo has also apologized to all the passengers for this.
These are the reasons behind delay and cancellation
The airline said that several reasons came together for the impact on flights. According to the company, minor technical glitches affected flight operations. Due to winter weather, changes had to be made in the flight schedule, which increased the pressure on the network. Apart from this, flights could not operate smoothly due to bad weather in many areas. Increasing air traffic in the aviation system also increased delays in flights. Additionally, the implementation of new Flight Duty Time Limit (FDTL) crew roster rules affected crew availability, further disrupting operations.
Efforts continue to improve the situation
Indigo has said that to improve the situation, the schedule of flights will be changed for the next 48 hours. The company claims that with these steps, operations will gradually stabilize and on-time performance will be brought back to normal.
Relief options for passengers
The airline said that the affected passengers are either being adjusted on another suitable flight or being given a full refund. The company has assured that operations will soon return to normal levels. Indigo said that the convenience and safety of passengers is its first priority and all efforts are being made to improve the situation soon.
