Security forces have busted two old terrorist hideouts during a joint operation in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. This operation was conducted in the forest area of Damhal Hanjipora, where the action was started after receiving intelligence about the hiding of terrorists. A joint team of 9 Rashtriya Rifles of the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted this operation.
According to officials, security forces conducted a search operation in the dense forests between Ahmedabad and Negripora, during which two old hideouts were detected and later destroyed. Some essential items like gas cylinders, clothes and other items have been recovered from these locations. It is being told that these bases were not in use for a long time, but security agencies suspect that attempts were being made to reactivate them in recent months.
Search operation still going on
At present, the recovered items are being examined to find out by which organization these hideouts were being used and whether any terrorist had recently stayed in them. Police said that the search operation is still going on in the area so that any possible threat or hidden terrorist can be caught. Security forces have surrounded the area and investigation has been increased in the surrounding villages as well.
