Delhi court rejects anticipatory bail petition
Delhi’s Rohini court on Thursday (December 11, 2025) had rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Luthra brothers, which they had filed to avoid arrest soon after their return to India. It was claimed in the petition that both the brothers are ready to fully cooperate in the investigation of the accident.
However, Additional Sessions Judge Vandana of Delhi’s Rohini Court rejected their application, while the Goa government’s counsel pointed to the two brothers leaving the country immediately after the incident, arguing that they first escaped, went into hiding and are now seeking leniency.
CM Pramod Sawant spoke on the return of the accused to India
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant assured that Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra will be brought back to India as soon as possible to face legal action. The responsibility of the return of the accused Luthra Brothers has been handed over to a team of Goa Police and CBI.
Why is there a delay in bringing Luthra Brothers to India?
The process of bringing Luthra Brothers to India is not possible immediately. The biggest reason behind this is the cancellation of passports of both the brothers. In such a situation, now an emergency travel certificate will be issued in the name of both the brothers from the Embassy of India. Due to cancellation of passport, both the accused brothers will now be taken to Bangkok, where this process will be completed through the Indian Embassy. Only after this will his return to India be possible. At the same time, if this process is not completed on Friday, there may be a delay in completing the process due to government holidays on Saturday and Sunday.
