Tamil Nadu News: A very painful incident has come to light in Tenkasi district of Tamil Nadu, where a 26-year-old girl, upset over losing money in an online game, committed suicide. This incident has shaken the entire Sivagiri and surrounding areas.
Love marriage took place four years ago
Prakash’s wife Pon Anandi (26), a resident of Ambedkar Theru in Sivagiri area of Tenkasi district, worked in a private hospital. Prakash is a van driver in a private company in Coimbatore. Both of them had a love marriage four years ago and have a lovely two-year-old daughter, whose name is Pugazhini.
Since Prakash lived in Coimbatore and Pon Anandi worked in Kadayanallur, she left her daughter with her parents in Pavursatram most of the time.
The painful truth revealed on the morning of 4th December
On December 3, Pon Anandi went to her maternal home to meet her daughter and later returned to Sivagiri again. The next day, on the morning of 4th December, Prakash’s mother Selvi reached her daughter-in-law’s house. But even after knocking on the door for a long time, no answer was received. The door was locked from inside, after which Selvi opened the door with another key. As soon as she reached inside, she saw that Pon Anandi was hanging in the room. Seeing this scene she started crying loudly. Neighbors immediately informed the police.
Suicide note found in the room
Police reached the spot and investigated and recovered a letter during search of the room. In that letter, Pon Anandi had clearly written, “No one is responsible for my suicide. I have lost money in online games. I did not know what to do, so I took this step.”
During interrogation of family members and colleagues, it was revealed that Pon Anandi used to play online games on mobile for a long time. Gradually she got addicted to the game and lost around Rs 63,000 not in one go but several times. After losing such a huge amount, she was under mental stress and could not even share her problem with anyone.
Grief and concern in the area
The entire village is shocked by the death of Pon Anandi. People say that online games are spreading rapidly among youth and women and many families are being ruined due to this. Police have registered the case and started investigation.
