Rouse Avenue Court can decide on Thursday whether charges should be framed against RJD chief and former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family in the famous Land for Job case. Rouse Avenue Court was earlier scheduled to pronounce its verdict on November 10, but it was postponed to December 4.
This is the whole matter
This matter pertains to the time when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister of the country from 2004 to 2009. Investigating agency CBI alleges that many Group-D people were given jobs in the West Central Zone of Railways, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh on the condition that they or their family members transfer their land to Lalu Yadav’s family or people associated with him. CBI says that many lands were transferred as gifts or at low prices and some benami properties are also included in these.
CBI has filed charge sheet against Lalu, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi and others.
CBI has filed a charge sheet in this case against Lalu Yadav, his wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, his son and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and many others. It is alleged that recruitments were done by ignoring the rules, which makes it a case of corruption and conspiracy.
Lalu family has opposed CBI’s allegations
On the other hand, Lalu family has rejected all the allegations. He says that this case is completely motivated by political vendetta and there is no concrete evidence in it. Rouse Avenue Court will see whether there is enough evidence to frame charges. If the court finds sufficient grounds then charges can be framed and the trial will begin. Now all eyes are on which direction the court order goes.
