Before the Kerala Assembly elections, Congress has launched the official campaign anthem of the United Democratic Front. Based on the slogan “Keralam Jeikkum, UDF Nayikkum” (Kerala will win, UDF will lead), this anthem is considered to be part of the strategy to give a confident political message before the elections.
This anthem has been prepared not just as a promotional song but as a part of the entire campaign strategy. The song and video prominently feature the state leadership along with national level leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. So that the message of strength of leadership and coordination can be given.
What is the specialty of the anthem?
Interestingly, despite the anthem being based on a completely positive campaign, it also includes a political take on the issue of alleged understanding between CPM and BJP. That is, on one hand the anthem contains a positive and development based message, while on the other hand it also contains a political attack. The strategy of Congress and UDF is to use this anthem on a large scale on digital platforms, social media, rallies and ground campaigns, so that a uniform message is sent among the workers, the branding of the campaign is strengthened and recall value can be created among the voters.
Role of media campaign in Kerala elections
According to party strategists, this time in Kerala elections, not just rallies and statements, but narrative, branding, music, video and social media campaigns are going to play a big role. Keeping this in mind, this anthem has been prepared so that a message can be quickly remembered among the people. Voting is going to be held in Kerala in a single phase on 9 April. After this the results will be revealed on May 4.
