Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday (February 17, 2026) called on the Hindu society to be organized and empowered. He said that Hindu society is not in danger from anyone, but it is important to be careful and alert.
Addressing the social harmony meeting organized at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Nirala Nagar, Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat expressed concern over the decreasing population of Hindus. He said that the society should consider this issue seriously. According to scientists, a society which has less than three children on an average becomes weak in the future.
He talked about making new couples aware about this matter and linked marriage with the continuous flow of creation. He expressed the need to stop alleged greed and forced conversions. He stressed on speeding up the Ghar Wapsi campaign and supporting those returning to religion.
It is necessary to identify infiltrators and take action: Bhagwat
Expressing concern over the increasing infiltration, the Sangh chief said that appropriate legal action should be taken after identifying the infiltrators and they should not be given employment. He said that the reason for discrimination in the society is lack of harmony. We are all sons of one country and one motherland. As human beings we are all one. He said that Sanatan ideology is an ideology of coordination and harmony and there is a need to understand the truth instead of eradicating the opponents.
Whereas Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat described mother power as the basis of the family and said that women should not be considered weak but as an embodiment of power. He also emphasized on self-defense training of women and talked about giving respectable place to women as mothers in Indian tradition.
UGC What did the Sangh chief say on the issue of?
At the same time, during the meeting, when a question was asked to Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat regarding the UGC guidelines, he said that everyone should follow the law. If the law is wrong then there is a way to change it. Castes should not become a cause of conflict. If there is a sense of belonging in the society then this kind of problem will not arise. Those who have fallen down will have to bow down and lift them up. Everyone is ours, this feeling should be there in the mind. The world moves forward not through conflict but through coordination. There should not be a feeling of suppressing one and making the other stand up.
India will guide the world in near future: Bhagwat
He expressed confidence that India will guide the world in the near future and the solutions to global problems lie in Indian ideology. He said that some people sitting in countries like America and China are making plans against the goodwill of India, hence the society will have to be alert and strengthen mutual trust. At the end of the meeting, he called for organizing regular meetings of social harmony at the colony level, so that misunderstandings can be removed through dialogue and the weaker sections of the society can be helped.
