The ongoing war between Iran and America has now reached a point where it is impossible for either of them to stop without achieving victory. Iran is destroying American bases, Israeli bases are being destroyed and America and Israel together are busy in destroying Iranian bases. In such a situation, the only wait is when US President Donald Trump will send US troops to Iran. Because it does not seem possible for this war to end without fighting on the ground. But the question is why Trump is not sending American troops to Iran. After all, what is the fear that is stopping them from launching a ground attack on Iran along with Israel and the bigger question is that even if Trump decides to land American troops in Iran at a weak moment, what will be the fate of that army.
Almost 24 days have passed since this war went on. In these 24 days, America appears to be very strong on the surface, because one by one it has killed more than 50 top commanders of Iran including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Despite this, Iran is neither ready to bow nor break, because the command of Iran is now in the hands of Mujtaba Khamenei, who has also been the commander of Iran’s most elite and deadly force IRGC. Therefore, until IRGC is not abolished, this war will continue from Iran’s side. Therefore, the only way to stop Iran is to destroy the IRGC. And air strikes are not going to help in eliminating it. For that, a head-to-head battle will have to be fought, for which the American army and the Israeli army will have to enter Iran.
But Trump is not ready for this yet. Because in all the military commands of America in Middle East Asia, there are already about 50 thousand American soldiers present there. On Trump’s orders, about 2500 more American soldiers are moving towards Middle East Asia. But none of them is mustering the courage to enter Iran directly. Recently, Trump has clearly said that he will not send American troops to Iran. According to the New York Times report, on March 18, Trump, while answering a reporter’s question, had said that he had no intention of sending the army and even if he sent the army, he would not tell anyone about it. Because whether it is America’s Trump or Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu, both of them know the consequences of directly entering Iran.
And the result is the death of American-Israeli soldiers. Because the geographical conditions of Iran are such that it is very difficult for soldiers from any other country to fight and win there. Actually Iran is surrounded by two mountain ranges. The largest mountain range among these is Zagros, which is seen as the impenetrable wall of Iran. The length of this mountain is about 1500 kilometers from north-west to south-east of Iran, in which there are peaks of more than 13000 feet height. This is not a single mountain but a whole series of hills, which blocks the path of any army. Because the weapons that the ground forces have, like tanks or armored vehicles, do not find a way to pass through these mountains. There are some passes through which the American army can pass with its weapons, but those passes are already occupied by the Iranian army, who can ambush and attack the American army. Even if the American army crosses one valley, another valley will immediately appear in front. There are narrow streets between these hills, where the Iranian army is present with ‘anti-tank missiles’.
Apart from Zagros, there is another big mountain range near Iran, which is called Alborz. This mountain separates Iran’s capital Tehran from the Caspian Sea. If the American army has to capture Iran’s capital Tehran, it will have to pass through the mountains of Alborz. But here also the Iranian army is deployed, which is very difficult for America to defeat in the mountains. The remaining peak of this mountain is about 5610 meters high, whose name is Mount Damavand. Because of this, even American military ships are not able to fly near it.
The remaining part between these two mountains is desert. Even if the American army somehow crosses the mountains and enters the flat area, it will have to face the Dasht-e-Kavir and Dasht-e-Lut deserts. These deserts are among the hottest and driest areas in the world, where the land is like salt marsh. If any heavy military equipment like tank, cannon or armored vehicle passes through this desert, it is sure to sink into the swamp.
Now the asker may ask that such a bad geographical situation will not be enough for America only, the Iranian army may also get trapped if it sinks and gets trapped. The answer is yes. If there is a difficult ground war, it will be difficult for the Iranian army also. But the other aspect of this is that the Iranian army has been prepared only for such difficult circumstances. His fighting training is from these mountains. And Iran has also cut these mountains as per its convenience and has built its bunkers under them.
Iran has built an entire city beneath these mountains, where it has a stockpile of missiles. Iran launches missiles from this underground city, about 500 meters below the ground. Because in this city there are not only missile warehouses but also long and big tunnels, in which trucks can move with missiles and if needed, the missiles can be transported to the launch pad through these trucks. America knows very well that this city cannot be completely destroyed even by dropping bunker buster bombs.
Otherwise, Iran also knows that it can no longer stand against America in a one-on-one fight. In such a situation, Iran has prepared its army in such a way that even if a command center is destroyed, the Iranian army divided into small groups can attack on its own. In the south of Iran, where the mountains and the sea meet, Iran has hidden ‘suicide drones’ and ‘fast attack crafts’ in small caves, which suddenly emerge and attack the ships.
Now, if people like us know these geographical conditions of Iran, then America would know about these conditions very well. If the American army enters Iran, it will have to fight the Iranian army on every mountain peak and every narrow valley. And this will be exactly the same as what happened with the American army in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan also had hills and narrow valleys like Iran. Taliban fighters used to sit in ambush in the hills of Hindukush. The American army was invincible in the open fields with big weapons, tanks and cannons, but finding and killing the fighters hidden in the mountains was a difficult task. Taliban fighters would come out to attack, attack and hide in caves. Then Taliban fighters had uttered a slogan. He used to say-
You have watches, but we have time.
The Taliban knew that one day the American people would get tired of the war. And when the pressure to end this war increases in America, then no matter who the President is, the war will have to end. And this is what happened. America had to exit Afghanistan without achieving anything. Earlier, the same thing had happened with the American army in Iraq and even before that in Vietnam. When millions of dollars started being wasted in the war and dead bodies of American soldiers started reaching American homes, people’s anger turned into rebellion. And to save their politics, American Presidents had to end the war.
Even now this war will probably end just like this. Because Iran is more inaccessible than Afghanistan and Iraq and the landing of American troops means this war will become endless. Trump, who has reached the latter part of his political career, would hardly be willing to prolong this war.
