Kremlin has termed the news of Russia sending drones to Iran as false. A report in the Financial Times on Wednesday (25 March 2026) claimed that Russia is sending drones to Iran. On this, Kremlin said that these claims are false and hence people should not pay attention to them. Russia has been a major ally of Iran for years and Moscow has refused to provide military aid to Tehran since the war began.

Russia is helping Iran: Report

The report said that the Kremlin has already provided intelligence assistance and satellite images to its ally Iran. After this war that started on February 28, Russia is now going to send a consignment of drones to Iran by March 2026. It said that Russia is manufacturing drones designed by Iran for the ongoing war in Ukraine from 2023.

It is being told that this consignment has been sent from Russia to Iran with the aim of strengthening Tehran’s military capabilities and stabilizing its government. Terming these news as fake, Kremlin said that we are continuing our dialogue with the Iranian leadership.

These weapons are very effective for Iran

The report claims that Shahed model drones made in Iran have proved to be the most effective weapon for Tehran in this war. This drone is very important for Iran due to its low cost and easy manufacturing capability. This drone can be used for espionage, precision strikes or large-scale attacks. Apart from the shipment of drones, some reports claim that Russia is providing non-military assistance to Iran, including food supplies, medical aid and intelligence assistance such as satellite imagery.
