Strong earthquake tremors were felt on Saturday (7 March 2026) amid the ongoing war-like situation in Iran. According to the American geological agency United States Geological Survey, an earthquake of 4.1 magnitude was recorded in the western area of Iran’s coastal city of Bandar Abbas. As soon as the tremors were felt, panic spread among the people living in the area and many people came out of their homes.
Bandar Abbas is an important port city, so the local administration immediately started reviewing the security arrangements. According to initial information, there has been no news of any major loss of life or property due to the earthquake, but the administration is keeping an eye on the situation.
Earthquake tremors felt in Iran
These shocks in Iran have been felt at a time when tension and military confrontation between Iran and America and Israel is going on in the country for the last 8 days. This is the second time in the last four days that earthquake tremors have been felt in Iran. For this reason, many discussions have started regarding this incident. Some experts believe that this could be a completely natural earthquake, but due to the current war-like environment, some analysts are also linking it to a possible nuclear test. Generally, scientists believe that if underground nuclear testing is conducted, the intensity of the tremors generated can often be 4.5 on the Richter scale or more. However, no scientific evidence has yet emerged to prove that the recent tremors were caused by any nuclear test.
Iran has the ability to make nuclear bombs
Iran has already claimed many times that it can achieve the capability of making a nuclear bomb in a short time. Meanwhile, a confidential report of the International Atomic Energy Agency in February 2026 stated that before the recent military tension, Iran had about 440.9 kg of uranium, which had been enriched up to 60 percent. According to experts, uranium enriched up to 60 percent is considered very close to the 90 percent purity required to make weapons. According to the agency’s assessment, if this uranium is further enriched, about ten nuclear weapons can be made from it. This is the reason why in the current situation, every incident related to Iran is being monitored at the international level.
