Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (October 31, 2025) has given a big statement regarding infiltration and worsening of demographic balance in India. He said that illegal immigration is affecting the demographic balance in some parts of India. Describing the infiltrators as a big threat to the unity and integrity of the country, he called for a pledge to drive them out.
At an event organized in Gujarat’s Ekta Nagar to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, PM Modi said that those opposing the government’s action against infiltrators do not care whether the country will be divided again.
After watching the National Unity Day parade, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘Today there is a big threat to the unity and integrity of the country from infiltrators. Infiltrators have been infiltrating the country for decades, they are capturing and using the resources of our country. They have disturbed the demographic balance and endangered the unity of the country.
PM Modi targeted the previous Congress government
Modi alleged, ‘Previous governments had closed their eyes to this big threat. He put the country’s security at risk for vote bank politics. But now for the first time the country has decided to fight a decisive battle against this threat. I had announced the Demography Mission from the Red Fort on August 15, 2025. We are taking this issue seriously, but instead of giving priority to the national interest, some people are waging a political battle to give rights to the infiltrators for their own selfish interests.
He said, ‘Those opposing it believe that the country has already been divided once, so they do not care if it disintegrates again in the future. But the truth is that when the security and identity of the country is in danger, everyone is affected by it. Therefore, on this National Unity Day, we should take a pledge that we will expel all infiltrators from India.
PM strict on infiltration of Bangladeshis and Rohingya Muslims in Eastern India
Modi was apparently referring to the infiltration of Bangladeshis and Rohingyas into eastern India, which has raised concerns about demographic imbalance in Assam, West Bengal and some states in the North-East. During his Independence Day speech this year, the Prime Minister announced the Demographic Mission, which aims to tackle the threats of India’s demographic imbalance due to illegal immigration and infiltration.
According to the report, Prime Minister Modi has presented this mission as a national security issue and warned that demographic changes due to illegal migration, especially in the border areas, pose a threat to social harmony, internal security and livelihood of Indian citizens.
