Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a historic announcement while addressing the nation from the Red Fort on the occasion of 79th Independence Day. By the year 2035, India will create a state -of -the -art national security shield called ‘Sudarshan Chakra’. This mission will not only protect the boundaries of the country, but will also strengthen India in future technology-based battle strategies.
The Prime Minister said that the entire research, development and manufacturing work of this mission will be done in India and it will have a major role of the youth and scientists of the country. This is being considered a decisive step in the defense policy of self -reliant India. Prime Minister Modi has inspired this mission from the Sudarshan Chakra of Lord Krishna in the Mahabharata. He recalled the incident in which Shri Krishna covered the sun and darkened during the day, due to which Arjuna was able to fulfill his pledge. On the same lines, India’s ‘Sudarshan Chakra’ mission will also inactive every attack of enemies and will be able to retaliate with many times more strength. This system will be designed for precise and targeted action, which proves decisive in every situation.
Mission’s characteristics and strategic importance
The Prime Minister clarified that the ‘Sudarshan Chakra’ mission will not only be a weapon system, but it will act as a complete defense shield. It will have the following characteristics:
- The ability to attack the enemy’s bases by targeting.
- Along with neutralizing the attacks, the ability to retaliate.
- From research to production, everything will be in India.
- Opportunities in the technical and scientific sector to the youth of the country.
This mission will be a major step towards ending the global defense technology to a high level of global defense technology as well as ending the dependence on imports in the defense sector.
Preparation for changing challenges of modern war
The Prime Minister said that the methods of war in the world are changing rapidly. Cyber attack, drone war, space-based weapons and AI-based military systems are creating new challenges. The purpose of the ‘Sudarshan Chakra’ mission is to develop an omnipotent, modern and technically advanced system to deal with all these emerging challenges. It will increase India’s capacity not only on the borders, but also in the areas of cyber and space security.
