‘Indian market being closed for American goods …’, What did Trump say after the announcement of 25 percent tariff

US President Donald Trump has announced to impose 25 percent tariffs on Indian goods. On this, the Economic Advisor of the White House says that Trump is disappointed due to lack of progress in trade talks between America and India and it seems that 25 percent tariff will solve and improve this situation.

According to PTI report, National Economic Council Director Kevin Haset said at the White House on Wednesday (July 30, 2025), ‘Look, India’s market is almost closed for American products and we are completely open to them. I think President Trump is upset with the way the conversation with India is going on about the trade deal, but he feels that 25 percent fee will solve and improve this situation which will be good for American people.

Donald Trump has posted a post on social media, in which he has not only announced 25 percent tariff on India, but also expressed displeasure over buying military equipment from Russia. In the post, Trump said that America has a huge trade deficit with India. After Trump became President this year, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to US, the US President offered to sell f-35 fighter jets to India. However, there was no special interest in this fighter jet from India.

F-35 is the fifth generation fighter jet, but it has fallen victim to many accidents in seven years and the ship crashed into Californies this morning. A Pentagon report has said that it has many operational flaws. Another report also revealed that F-35 More than half of the aircraft are not worth flying at any time. Even SpaceX owner Alan Musk has taunted it. He wrote in one of his posts that now there is a drone era and some stupids are still F-35 Like manned fighter jets are being made.

Trump said in the post, “Remember India is our friend, but in the last few years we have done relatively less trade with him because its fees are the highest in the world and the most rigorous and unpleasant non-mudly trade obstacles in India than any country.”

Donald Trump said, ‘Apart from this, India has always bought a large part of its military equipment from Russia and with China (India) is one of Russia’s biggest buyers, at a time when everyone wants Russia to stop attacking Ukraine. This is not all right, so India will pay 25 percent fee from August 1 and a fine for the above fee.

On the question of imposing additional charges on India on India’s purchase of Russian oil, Haset said that Trump and American trade representative Zamison Greer will have more information about this. On the fee, ‘The Asia Group’ aide Nisha Biswal said in a statement that the US is adopting a rigorous strategy, while an ambitious agreement is already under consideration.
