Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat has given a big statement on Sunday (February 15, 2026) in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh regarding India’s unity in diversity. He said that society is that which is interconnected. Self-interested attachment does not last. He said that in the rest of the world there is an idea that man-to-man relationship is a deal, but in our country (India) the idea of man-to-man relationship is not like that. The relationship here is one of belonging. There are many diversities and many customs in our country. There is unity in diversity here, because there is a bond here that we consider India as mother, there is only one consciousness in everyone that He is God.
Our nature has been formed by the conduct of centuries: Mohan Bhagwat
On the occasion of the centenary year of the RSS, a social harmony meeting was organized on behalf of RSS Goraksh Province on Sunday (February 15, 2026) at Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium located at Ramgarhtal Planetarium in Gorakhpur district. Heads and representatives of various castes, communities and sects were present in the meeting. In the social harmony meeting, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat said that despite our different specialties, this bond keeps us together. In our culture we look at women with affection.
He said that our nature has been formed by centuries of conduct. In our country, different appearance and costumes do not cause separation. The goal of our society is to know the truth of life and the truth of life is God. This is our common goal and common culture. Society runs in harmony, if there is no goodwill in the society then the society does not run despite the law and police.
India does not see selfishness: Sarsanghchalak
Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat said that the Sangh has completed 100 years. This is not a matter of celebration, which took 100 years to be done, it should have been done much earlier. What we have to do is to sit at the block level two-three times a year. We are concerned about our caste, it is a good thing, but keep in mind that we are people of a big society.
He said that there is complete freedom in Hindu society. We are a part of Hindu society, think about what we are doing and what we can do from this point of view. Also, in your caste-society meeting, consider what we are doing for the Hindu society at the block level. He further said that India does not see selfishness. When other countries of the world face any crisis, India comes forward to help them. India is the center of goodwill.
Representatives of different religions also expressed their views
After the address of Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, representatives of different castes and creeds also expressed their views on the occasion. On their queries, the Sarsanghchalak said that it is important to discuss within their caste and community and work for the larger Hindu society. The matter will move forward gradually after meetings at the block level. Work will have to be done at the social level yourself. One should not rely on the Sangh. There should be power in every part of the society. To run the society, the leaders of the society will have to work at the block level.
He said that we will think together, take responsibility together and if something goes wrong, we will improve together. If the country is fine, we will also be fine. This is the work of the society, the society will do it. The union will help. In the social harmony meeting, representatives of different sections also shared many inspiring examples of social work happening in their society.
