Opposition coalition India Block has called a big meeting on Saturday (July 19, 2025) regarding the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament. The meeting was to be held at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi earlier, but some prominent leaders had expressed their inability to attend the meeting due to some necessary work, after which now this meeting will be held at 7 pm on Saturday evening.
Who will be involved in the meeting?
According to Congress sources, almost all major opposition leaders have confirmed to attend the meeting through video conferencing. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will join Bangalore, while CPP President Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi will attend the meeting from Delhi and Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal Kerala.
At the same time, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee will represent the party. Uddhav Thackeray of Shiv Sena (UBT) team and other leaders will also attend the meeting. Samajwadi Party party chief Akhilesh Yadav will also register his presence in the meeting.
Trinamool Congress attends meeting for the first time
NCP leaders Supriya Sule and Sharad Pawar are participating in the meeting. RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav and DMK party MK Stalin and other leaders will attend the meeting. Another important thing of this meeting is that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is going to participate in a meeting of India alliance after the Lok Sabha elections for the first time.
This is also important because the TMC had maintained distance from all the meetings of the India alliance in the previous sessions of Parliament and in such a situation, would the TMC come with the Congress once again, there was doubt on it.
AAP breaks down from alliance
At the same time, the status of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also become clear about that meeting. Senior party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said that AAP is no longer a part of India alliance. This alliance was limited to Lok Sabha elections only.
Which issues will be discussed?
The main objective of this meeting of India alliance is to formulate a shared strategy for the monsoon session. In this meeting, the strategy of asking the government on the issue of ceasefire between Operation Sindoor and India-Pakistan will be discussed with the preparations to surround the government’s political situation, especially on the issue of SIR.
This is the first time after the Lok Sabha elections, when this big meeting of India alliance is going to be held. While the return of TMC can give new energy to the alliance, the exit of AAP can also become a challenge for the future strategy.
