Indian Air Force (IAF) chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh on Thursday called Operation Sindoor the most important military action of this year. The operation was performed after the Pahgam terror attack and described it as a strong air defense capacity and joint service scheme of the Indian Air Force.
Air Chief Marshal Singh gave this information at the annual Air Force Day Press Conference, which was held on 8 October before the parade to be held on the Hindindan Air Base. He said that in this operation, the long-range surface-to-air missiles (Sams) played a decisive role.

He said, “We did the longest distance hit in more than 300 kilometers of enemy area. Our stronger air defense system completely overturned the situation.” He emphasized that this operation is a clear example of the Indian Air Force’s technical ability and the ability to make quick decisions.
Pahalgam attack took place on 22 April
The terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April shook the country. 26 tourists were shot dead in this attack. This incident made it clear that a strong security mechanism is needed to prevent dangerous activities from across the border. After this attack, vigilance regarding security in the country was increased and new strategies against terrorism were emphasized. At the same time, India killed more than 100 terrorists in PoK under Operation Sindoor. After this, military conflict between India and Pakistan continued for three consecutive days. India also responded well to the attacks from Pakistan.
