After the death of the Booth Level Officer (BLO) of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, his video has now surfaced. This video could be a last message to his family. In this video, deceased BLO Sarvesh Kumar is seen saying that he could not complete the work of Special Intensive Revision (SIR). He has apologized for moving away from his family for this. He has also asked his mother and sister to take care of their daughters.
Actually, 46 year old Sarvesh Kumar, who was a teacher, was found dead at his home. Sarvesh Kumar came from Dalit community. He was originally a resident of Baheri village of Bhojpur, Moradabad. Now his family members have demanded strict action. He has leveled allegations against the senior officer.
Suicide note was also found from the deceased BLO
Kumar, who was serving as an assistant teacher in a government school, was given the responsibility of BLO on October 7. This was the first time in his life that he was working as a BLO. The work of BLO is that of a poll officer on the ground. He goes door-to-door collecting voters’ details and documents. His death on Sunday created a stir. During this time, a note was also received that due to the duties of BLO, he was not able to bear the stress.

I’m going to take a step. Only I am responsible for this. I am very upset. I haven’t been able to sleep in 20 days. Only I am responsible for this. There is no fault of anyone. I am very upset. I have not been able to sleep for 20 days. If I had time, I would have completed this work. I have four small daughters. Please forgive me. I am going far away from your world. I want to live, but there is a lot of pressure.

Uproar across the country over the responsibility of BLO
Sarvesh Kumar’s death has also happened at a time when different political parties are raising the issue of BLO in the country and creating ruckus. SIR is being conducted by the Election Commission in many states regarding the improvement in the voter list. Till now many people holding the responsibility of BLOs have died.
