The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and GRP have uncovered a gang smuggling a gang in a joint operation at New Jalpaiguri station on Monday (21 July 2025). The team rescued 56 girls under Operation Anti Human Trafficking Unit and also arrested two suspected smugglers. The arrested smugglers have been identified as Jitendra Kumar Paswan and Chandima Kar, who hails from Thakurnagar in Siliguri.
In fact, RPF and GRP conducted a intensive search operation at New Jalpaiguri station on July 21 at around 3 pm and under this, these 56 women were rescued while checking in different coaches of train number 13245 down.
Girls misguided in the name of employment
During interrogation, both the accused arrested said that they were taking these girls to motor parts and iPhone companies in Bangalore in the name of employment. New from Jalpaiguri to Rajendra Nagar (Patna) Danapur was sitting on the train to go to Bangalore via Danapur, but when RPF and GRP questioned the girls and their parents, they were found to be completely unknown.
Good job greed in Bengaluru
The girls were being sent to Bangalore by luring them good jobs. Even the girls were given their coaches and berth numbers with ink on their hand, which revealed that the girls did not even know about their journey. When he and his parents were asked to travel to Bangalore and present any valid documents related to the job found there, they did not have any documents or reply, after which the team suspected that the matter could be related to human trafficking.
Intensive interrogation of the accused
When the police interrogated the accused, the whole matter was exposed and both, including the goods recovered from the accused, were handed over to Gudi, GRP. A case has been registered under Section 143 (3)/3 (5) of the Indian Code. After this, all the 56 girls rescued were safely handed over to their families.
