Honda two-wheeler dominates the market on the basis of Shine and Activa! sales increased

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has registered a better growth in its two-wheeler sales in February 2026. The company’s total sales stood at 5,67,351 units, which is 34.30% more than 4,22,449 units in February 2025 last year. The main reason for this growth was strong demand in the domestic market, where sales reached 5,13,190 units, which is 33.67% up from last year’s 3,83,918 units.

Exports also saw a growth of 40.56%, with 54,161 units exported, whereas last year this number was 38,531. The share of the domestic market in sales for February 2026 was 90.45%, while that of exports was 9.55%. Overall, the company achieved additional sales of 1,44,902 units, indicating Honda’s strong position in the market. Honda’s popular models like Activa scooter and Shine motorcycle have played a major role in the domestic market.

There has been a slight decline in sales in February compared to January 2026. Total sales in January were 5,74,411 units, while in February it was 5,67,351 units with a decline of 1.23%. A decrease of 6,389 units (-1.23%) has been recorded in domestic sales and a decrease of 671 units in exports (-1.22%). The company’s performance remains positive with year-on-year growth.

Talking about the financial year 2025-26 (YTD), Honda’s total sales have reached 58,20,556 units, which is 7.70% more than 54,04,216 units of the previous financial year. Sales in the domestic market stood at 52,37,169 units, showing a growth of 6.33%, while exports stood at 5,83,387 units, up 21.80%. Total additional sales in this financial year were 4,16,340 units. The share of domestic market was 89.98% and that of exports was 10.02%. These figures show that Honda is expanding rapidly in the export market.

Compete with these companies

Honda’s share in the Indian two-wheeler market remains strong, where companies like Hero MotoCorp, TVS and Bajaj remain major competitors. The increase in February will encourage the company to increase investment in the EV segment. Till now it has not received good response from the EV market. It is expected that in the coming days it will try to improve and sell its electric two-wheelers.
