Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Saturday (November 8, 2025) that the goal of the RSS is to organize the Hindu society not for power but for the pride of the nation and Hindus are responsible for India.
He said that there is no non-Hindus in India, because everyone is descended from the same ancestors and the basic culture of the country is Hindu. Bhagwat made this comment while delivering a lecture on the topic ‘100 years of Sangh’s journey: New horizons’ in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. During this, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale and people from different walks of life were present.
Sangh does not desire power – Bhagwat
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said, ‘When an organized force arises in the form of Sangh, it does not desire power. He does not want prominence in society. He just wants to serve and organize the society for the glory of Mother India. In our country, people found it very difficult to believe, but now they believe. He said that when the question is raised as to why RSS focuses on Hindu society, the answer is that Hindus are responsible for India.
He said, ‘It is not that the British gave us nationality; We are an ancient nation. People everywhere in the world agree that every nation has its own original culture. There are many inhabitants, but there is one original culture. What is the basic culture of India? Whatever we describe, it takes us towards the word Hindu.
There are no non-Hindus in India – Bhagwat
Bhagwat said, ‘There are actually no non-Hindus in India and all Muslims and Christians are descendants of the same ancestors. Perhaps they do not know this or have forgotten this. He said, ‘Knowingly or unknowingly, everyone follows Indian culture, so no one is a non-Hindu and every Hindu should understand that he is a Hindu, because being a Hindu means being responsible for India.’
The organization had to face tough opposition for 60-70 years – Sarsanghchalak
Sarsanghchalak said, ‘Sanatan Dharma is a Hindu nation and the progress of Sanatan Dharma is the progress of India. The path has not been easy for the RSS and the organization has faced stiff opposition for almost 60-70 years, including two bans and violent attacks on volunteers.
He said, ‘Ban was imposed twice. It was imposed for the third time also, but it was not a special restriction. There was opposition and criticism. Volunteers were murdered. Every effort was made to prevent us from thriving. But the volunteers give their all to the Sangh and do not want anything in return. On this basis, we overcame all these situations and are now in such a situation that we have some credibility in the society. He said that in the centenary year, RSS wants to take its work to every village and every section of the society, all castes and classes.
