Help of so many crores from the Center to the 6 states affected by flood-scorching, Shah said- ‘Government stands together in the hour of crisis’

The Center has sanctioned Rs 1,066.80 crore under central contribution to the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for floods and landslides affected Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Kerala and Uttarakhand. Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave this information on Thursday (July 10, 2025).

Shah said that the Narendra Modi government is standing firmly with the states facing floods like floods, landslides and cloudburst. He said in a post on social media account ‘X’, “Today the Central Government has sanctioned Rs 1,066.80 crore as a central part under SDRF for floods and landslides affected states Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Kerala and Uttarakhand.”

How much budget is allotted to which state?

The Home Minister said that apart from financial assistance, it has been the priority of the government to provide all kinds of assistance including the deployment of the expected National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Army and Air Force.

According to a statement issued by the Union Home Ministry, out of the six flood affected states, Assam has been allocated Rs 375.60 crore, Manipur Rs 29.20 crore, Meghalaya Rs 30.40 crore, Mizoram Rs 22.80 crore, Kerala Rs 153.20 crore and Uttarakhand has been allocated Rs 455.60 crore from SDRF.

Many states allocated more money than budget

This year, these states have been affected due to extremely heavy rains, floods and landslides during the southwest monsoon. The statement said that the Modi government has given more than Rs 8,000 crore to many states from SDRF/National Disaster Response Fund this year. According to the statement, it has already released Rs 6,166.00 crore to 14 states from SDRF and Rs 1,988.91 crore to 12 states from NDRF.

The Union Ministry said that in addition, Rs 726.20 crore was released to five states from the State Disaster Reduction Fund and Rs 17.55 crore has been released to two states from the National Disaster Reduction Fund. According to the Center, during the current monsoon season, 104 teams of NDRF have been deployed in 21 states/union territories for rescue and relief operations.
