Gurugram Tennis Player Murder Case: The Gurugram police said on Friday (July 11, 2025) about the murder case of former tennis player Radhika Yadav that she was investigating with all possible aspects, including what her mother was doing at the time of the incident. According to the FIR lodged on the basis of the complaint given by Radhika’s uncle Kuldeep Yadav, Radhika’s mother Manju Yadav was present on the first floor of the house at the time of the incident.
On Thursday (July 10, 2025), Deepak Yadav shot and killed his daughter Radhika (25) in his two -storey house located in Sushant Lok, posh area of Gurugram. Later, Deepak Yadav (49) confessed to killing the daughter, then he was arrested.
That’s why father shot daughter
Radhika Yadav appeared in a music video last year. Police officials say that this music video may have caused tension in the house, so they will also investigate this aspect.
According to officials, Deepak Yadav confessed that he fired at Radhika, as he was often taunted to depend on her earnings. The police claimed in a statement that the tennis academy operated by Radhika was the reason for the dispute between the two.
Objection to daughter’s running tennis academy
Gurugram Police spokesman Sandeep Singh said, ‘His father was not happy with it. Deepak has revealed that he had an objection to his daughter running tennis academy, which had a dispute between the two. Many times Deepak had asked Radhika to close the academy, but she did not listen. In anger, Deepak shot Radhika three times.
The police claimed that the accused felt that he was financially prosperous and earns from rent. Therefore, there is no need for his daughter to run the academy. On Friday, a Gurugram court sent Deepak Yadav to one day police custody.
Police sought two days of custody
Outside the court, a police officer told reporters that he had sought two days of custody of the accused. He said, ‘We have to recover his license revolver bullets. We have to find out how many bullets he had.
When asked where the bullets were to be recovered, the officer said, “The accused has land in Kasam village near Rewari, we have to bring bullets from there.” A group of media persons asked many questions to the accused while coming out of the court, but the police immediately made him sit in the car.
Radhika had died before being taken to hospital
The FIR states that at around 10:30 am on Thursday morning, he suddenly heard a ‘loud voice’ and reached the first floor. Kuldeep said, ‘I saw my niece Radhika soaked in the kitchen and got a revolver in the drawing room. My son Piyush Yadav also rushed to the first floor. We both picked up Radhika and took her car to Asia Marringo Hospital in Sector 56, where doctors declared her dead.
Earlier, the police had told that the incident took place at around two in the afternoon, when Radhika was cooking in the kitchen on the first floor. Kuldeep Yadav said that at the time of the incident, only Deepak, his wife and daughter were on the first floor of the house. He told the police that Deepak’s son Dheeraj was not present there at the time of the incident and this is recorded in the FIR.
Radhika had 3 bullets
According to the police, Deepak fired at least five bullets, out of which three Radhika hit the back and died on the spot. It was earlier said that Radhika’s mother was on the floor below and ran upwards after hearing the sound of bullets. According to him, the sound of bullets was like a bursting of the pressure cooker.
Kuldeep, the uncle of the former tennis player, told the police, ‘My niece was a very good tennis player and he had won many trophies. I do not understand why he was murdered? My brother has a revolver of .32 bore with a license, she was lying there.
