Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday unveiled a 77 feet high bronze statue at Sri Sansthan Gokarna Jeevottam Math in Panaji, Goa. The Prime Minister had reached the function organized to mark the completion of 550 years of Shri Sansthan Gokarna Jeevottam Math. Modi also visited the temple of the monastery located in Portuguese South. This monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in India. It is known for its spiritual, cultural and social contributions. It has a prominent place in the Saraswat community.
Goa’s Public Works Department Minister Digambar Kamat said that sculptor Ram Sutar, who designed the statue of Sardar Patel in Gujarat, has created this statue of Lord Ram. He said that this is the tallest statue of Lord Ram in the world. Goa Governor Ashok Gajapati Raju and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant were present in the program.
Sculptor Ram Sutar, who designed the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, has created the statue of Shri Ram. This is the tallest statue of Lord Rama in the world. During this period, many programs are being organized from 27th November to 7th December. The site of the monastery in Goa was built 370 years ago in the Partagal village of Canacona. There are plans to organize many programs these days and 7,000 to 10,000 people are expected to visit the Math complex every day.
PM did road show in Udpi, Karnataka
During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after addressing the Laksh Kanth Geeta Parayan program at Shri Krishna Math, did a road show in Udpi, Karnataka. The Prime Minister inaugurated the Survan Teerth Mandap in front of the Krishna Temple and dedicated the Kanak Kavach (gold cover) for the Kanakana Kindi. Kanakana Kindi is a sacred window, through which it is believed that Saint Kanakdas had the divine vision of Lord Krishna.

During this, the PM said, “Coming to Uddpi is very special for me. Uddpi has been the birthplace of Jan Sangh and BJP’s model of good governance. In 1968, the people of Uddpi elected Jan Sangh’s VS Acharya to the Uddpi Municipal Corporation. Uddpi laid the foundation of a new governance model. The cleanliness campaign that we are seeing today was created by Uddpi five decades ago. Uddpi started water in the 70s. Started making a model of supply and drainage system. The world saw the divinity of India when one lakh people read the verses of Bhagwat Geeta.
