24 year old Manojit Mal and 60 year old Rahul Tanti were both working as daily wage laborers in the kitchen of that night club. Digant Patir, a youth from Dhemaji district of Assam, also started working as a cook in the club there. After completing the work, we were sitting comfortably when a fire broke out in the darkness of the night and everything was destroyed in a moment. Both belonged to the ‘Tea Tribe’ community. The condition of tea gardens in Barak Valley is so pathetic that the youth have left farming and sought work in other states.

Meanwhile, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has ordered a judicial inquiry into this accident. He also gave instructions to take strict action against the culprits. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu have expressed grief over the incident. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant held a high-level meeting and announced assistance for the families of the victims. In this, an assistance of Rs 5 lakh will be given to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand to the injured. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the dead and Rs 50 thousand to the injured.
