A massive fire broke out in the night club ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ located in Arpora, Goa, taking the lives of 25 people. After this tragic accident, the police investigation and arrests are progressing rapidly. Meanwhile, club owner and chairman Saurabh Luthra has broken his silence for the first time by posting on Instagram. Describing this incident as a tragedy, he expressed condolences to the families of the victims and assured all possible help.
Owner Saurabh Luthra issued a statement on social media
Saurabh Luthra wrote on Instagram that the management is ‘deeply shaken’ by the incident and expresses its ‘deepest condolences and solidarity’ to the families of the deceased and the injured. The post also said that the club’s management will provide ‘all possible help and support’ to assist those affected.
Lookout notice issued on absconding club owners
Goa Police has issued a lookout notice against club owner Saurabh Luthra and his brother Gaurav Luthra, so that they cannot leave the country. Police claims that both of them have left Goa after the accident and are now trying to escape abroad by changing their location.
Police said that the airport and all police stations have been put on high alert. The photographs of the accused have been sent to all the agencies. Several teams have been formed for the arrest.
FIR and allegations
An FIR has already been registered against the owners including the club manager, investors and other responsible persons. A case has been registered against them under serious sections including culpable homicide. The DGP of Goa Police has confirmed that some employees of the club are being detained and interrogated, while the main accused are still out of the reach of the police. The four managers arrested late on Sunday night were produced in the Bardej district court, where they were sent on six-day police remand.
Apart from this, with the help of Delhi Police, a suspect named Bhola has also been detained, whose connection with the club owners is being investigated. The accident happened on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The reason for how the fire broke out is not yet clear. Fire brigade and police investigation is ongoing.
