Minister Shekhawat said that India has always been a country with a rich tradition of tourism. Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that there is a need to create new destinations in view of rapidly growing tourism in India. For this, talks are going on with the state governments and in the next 3-4 years, many new attraction centers will be prepared in the country.
‘India will become the hub of medical and yoga tourism’
He informed that the possibilities of medical tourism in India are continuously increasing. Due to increasing number of medical colleges, the cost of treatment has reduced, due to which foreign patients are preferring to come to India. Also, the attraction of foreigners for yoga has also increased considerably.

On the suggestions of Shashi Tharoor, he said that about two and a half million tourists visit Singapore and Dubai, while about two crores in India. But the difference is that in India, such a large number of people alone reach religious places like Mahakal.

He clearly said that the American tariff will not have any effect on India’s tourism, but this sector is taking it as a challenge.
