A case of harassment and assault of a girl has come to light in Kengeri sub-division under South-West Division of Bengaluru city. Bengaluru City Police has arrested a young man within 24 hours for continuously harassing and publicly attacking a girl after befriending her through Instagram.
According to Bengaluru Police, the accused identified himself with a girl living in Gyan Bharati police station area through Instagram. After this, the accused started pressurizing the girl to accept the love relationship. It is alleged that the accused used to stalk the girl and also used to abuse her. Not only this, the young man also physically tortured the victim.
Girl attacked after reaching PG
This incident is of 22 December 2025. Police said that at around 3:20 pm the accused reached the paying guest (PG) residence of the girl. There he once again pressurized the girl to accept his love and during this he attacked her head, back and neck. It is alleged that during this time he pulled the girl’s clothes and also tried to tear her shirt. After the incident, the accused fled from the spot.
Police arrested the accused
Based on the complaint of the victim, case number 534/2025 was registered at Gyan Bharti Police Station on the same day. This case has been registered under sections 74, 75, 76, 78, 79 and 351(2) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS)-2023. Taking prompt action, the police tracked down the accused and arrested him within 24 hours.
The accused has been identified as Naveen Kumar N. (29), father is born as Narayanaswami. Police have said that a detailed investigation of the case is underway and necessary legal and security assistance is being provided to the victim.
