‘Udaipur Files’ is based on a true incident and exposes Jihadis who killed Kanhaiya Lal. Former BJP MLA Raja Singh has expressed his opinion on this film. He alleged that Jihadi groups are filing petitions against the release of the film so that they could not be exposed.
Raja Singh also claimed that after the approval of the censor board, jihadi groups have no right to stop the film. He said, ‘There is’ saffron rule ‘in the country, so no one has the courage to stop the release of this film.’
Film will be released on this date
The film ‘Udaipur Files’ based on Kanhaiya Lal’s murder is releasing on 11 July 2025, but Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has filed a petition in the High Court, describing it as a communal harmony. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind says that the film wrongly depicts the Muslim community and can work to incite sensitive issues like Gyanvapi mosque case.
The petition has demanded the release, screening and trailer of the film from digital platforms. The Delhi High Court will now hear it on Wednesday (July 9, 2025), which is two days before the release.
Film will expose jihadis
Former BJP MLA Raja Singh has supported the film. He said that it is based on the true incident and exposes jihadis. He claimed that no film could stop after the approval of the censor board, and the release will not be interrupted due to ‘saffron rule’ in the country.
The film is based on sensitive issue
‘Udaipur Files’ is based on the murder of Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur in 2022. The film is based on a sensitive issue, which has launched a debate across the country. Kanhaiya Lal murder case was a ruthless murder of an oil businessman, which shook the entire country. Differences have been going on between political and social groups since this incident.
‘The trailer of the film is provocative’
The film has received a ‘A’ certificate from the censor board, which means that it has been allowed for adults. For this reason, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has filed petitions in Delhi, Bombay and Gujarat High Courts, demanding a ban on the release of the film.
These petitions states that the trailer of the film, which was released on 26 June 2025, is full of inflammatory content and mentions controversial political statements, such as Nupur Sharma’s statements, which have already increased communal tension.
