After Operation Sindoor, there is so much fear in Pakistan that it is taking any step cautiously. The result of this is that Pakistan has shifted more than 72 launchpads to interior areas ready to push terrorists into the Indian border.
The Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday (29 November 2025) said that if the government decides to launch the cross-border operation Operation Sindoor 2.0, the security force is ready to cause heavy damage to the enemy. Officials, however, said the BSF was honoring the agreement to halt military operations for four days from May 7-10.
Many launchpads active in interior areas of Pakistan
BSF Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Vikram Kunwar said, “During Operation Sindoor, BSF had destroyed several terrorist launchpads on the border, after which the Pakistan government has shifted such launchpads to the hinterland. About 12 launchpads are functioning in Sialkot and Zafarwal, which are not actually on the border. Similarly, 60 launchpads are active in other interior areas away from the border.
Vikram Kunwar addressed a joint press conference with BSF Inspector General (IG), Jammu Frontier, Shashank Anand and DIG Kulwant Rai Sharma, organized to highlight the achievements of the force in 2025. During this, he briefed about the force’s role in Operation Sindoor, which was India’s military response to the cross-border Pahalgam massacre on 22 April. 26 people lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack.
Launchpad becomes active during infiltration in India
The officer said that along with these launchpads, the number of terrorists present in them also keeps changing. DIG Kunwar said, “They do not live there permanently. These launchpads usually become active when terrorists have to be sent to India. They are not kept in more than two or three groups. He said that at present there are no training camps in the areas near the international border.
The official said that reports generally say that deployment has been made at the launchpad, which is an indication that the terrorists have been trained before being taken to other areas. DIG Kunwar said, “Earlier there were designated areas and generally Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were active in the lower areas while Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists used to operate in the upper areas. After Operation Sindoor, they formed a group together so that they could take training jointly.
We are ready for war: BSF
IG Anand said that if the government decides to restart Operation Sindoor then BSF is ready to follow the orders of the government. He said, “If we talk about Kargil war of 1965, 1971, 1999 or Operation Sindoor, BSF has good experience in all types of wars, be it conventional war or hybrid war. We are ready.
BSF destroyed 118 Pakistani posts
“If we get a chance, we are capable of causing more damage than what we did in May,” he said. We destroyed 118 Pakistani posts in Jammu area. Heavy damage was caused to their surveillance equipment. Whatever policy the government decides, BSF will play its role in it.” When asked about Pakistani Rangers fleeing from their posts during Operation Sindoor, the IG said that once the situation becomes normal, it is necessary that everyone returns to their respective posts.
‘There is no movement of terrorists on the border’
The IG said, “It took a long time for Pakistan to recover from the damage caused by BSF. At some places they have tried to strengthen their security arrangements, but all their activities are under our surveillance. He said that BSF is making its plans according to the changing circumstances and when we get the opportunity, we will take appropriate action. The officer said, “At present there is no movement of terrorists on the border which gives rise to concern.”
Our forces destroyed terrorist camp: Defense Minister
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that Operation Sindoor is a great example of excellent coordination between civil and military machinery. He said, “Recently Operation Sindoor took place. Our forces destroyed the terrorist camps located in Pakistan. Although we had given a very balanced response, our response was not to escalate the attack, but Pakistan’s attitude after Operation Sindoor did not allow the situation on the border to remain normal.”
He said, “During this period, the way mock drills were conducted across the country and our administrative officers successfully explained and conveyed those mock drills to the public, is a great example of all of you being public servants. All of you also have to keep yourself mentally prepared for any such situation that may occur in the future.”
