During the investigation and interrogation of the mobile phones of the accused caught in the Faridabad-Saharanpur module, the role of the arrested Dr. Shaheen has turned out to be that of collecting money for terrorism. According to the information, the handlers of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Al Qaeda used to send more than Rs 9 lakh to Dr. Shaheen through Bitcoin, which Shaheen used to withdraw in more than 10 accounts through P2P method.
Apart from this, more than Rs 6 lakh had come to Dr Shaheen through Hawala from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Syria. During interrogation, it has also come to light that Dr. Shaheen herself used to collect money for this module through donations and told people that she was taking these donations to build a hospital for cheap treatment of Muslims. Apart from this, Dr. Shaheen had also invested Rs 4 lakh from his own earnings in the terror work of the module.
10 days inquiry
An interesting fact has emerged in the 10 days of interrogation since November 10 that all the accused had definite plans for their respective tasks. While Dr. Shaheen’s job was to collect money and transfer the money given by the handlers to different accounts, Umar’s job was to use this money to buy explosives, buy chemicals, make explosives from chemicals in the room, test them, and buy vehicles for suicide attacks. Along with this, in the interrogation and investigation so far, no evidence has been found of Dr. Shaheen’s direct contact with Masood Azhar’s sister Sadia Azhar or with Afeera Farooq, wife of slain terrorist Omar Farooq.
