Former Union Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar, who is often in the headlines for his controversial statements, has once again made very objectionable and controversial statements in Jaipur. Challenging the system of India, he has said that if he has courage then he should go to Islamabad and hold talks with Pakistan for months. He said that India was called the golden bird and a strong economic power only during the time of the Mughals.
Giving the advice of Mughal ruler Babar to PM Modi, he said that if he tries to interfere in the religion and customs of Muslims, his empire will disintegrate. In a program organized in Jaipur, Mani Shankar Iyer said that Hindus themselves are backward and call Muslims backward thinking. He did not stop here, he gave another controversial statement and said that if an attempt is made to make India a Hindu nation, then this country will disintegrate and be divided into 43 pieces.
Only Muslims are closest to Hindus
Iyer said that the reality is that only Muslims are so close to Hindus all over the world, there are no people of any other religion. My experience has been that talking to Pakistanis is the easiest thing. This ease is available for a Hindu as well as for an Indian. The language of Hindus and Muslims is the same, thinking is the same, culture is the same. We understand each other completely. It is true that their kebab is better than our kebab.
If you have courage then talk to Pakistan: Iyer
He said that still we can compete with them regarding kebabs. Why are we holding on to America? Why are we becoming friends with Israel? Why are we angry with China and why are we so dependent on Russia? Whereas next to us are those people i.e. Pakistan. If the tragedy of Partition had not happened, he would have been a citizen of this country today. We both are citizens of the same country and you say that we are carrying out a surgical strike on them.
He said that if you have courage then talk to him face to face. Why don’t you have this courage? Why don’t you talk face to face? We should talk, that too continuously. Initially he will state his complaints and you will present yours. This may take months. During this time they will keep telling us and we will also keep telling them. They will complain to us a lot and we will keep telling them that starting from Pahalgam till 1947 you did these things, when this grudge goes out of our hearts then some constructive talks take place.
He said that then that could be a constructive thing. We should talk to them continuously. Our government does not have the courage to hold talks continuously. They say we will not negotiate. We will not send our ambassador. We will not maintain any relation with them. We will not go to the meeting of SAARC countries. We will hug everyone. Trump will also be hit, no matter how much tariff he imposes. I cannot understand all this that is happening. Why don’t you talk to them directly. Why don’t you have the courage to meet him and say that I differ with you?
If we move ahead keeping Hindu Rashtra, we have no future: Iyer
Apart from this he said that India is one country, perhaps we can say that it is three. Two countries got divided because we could not keep them with us. There are 43 states in Europe. If we move forward keeping this mistake i.e. Hindu nation in mind, then there is no future for us i.e. India. We have to make diversity our foundation and basis. Hindus are in majority here. At least 80 percent are Hindu. The number of Muslims is 20 crores, but they are also Indian citizens. To call this India a Hindu country is to try to establish a Hindu nation and in creating a Hindu nation, to say that Muslims are our enemies because we have been slaves of Muslims for 1000 years. If you have created such a foundation regarding your nationality, then India cannot survive. Absolutely cannot last. If this happens we will be divided into at least 43 states. If only he who is a Hindu can be an Indian. Then it will start from there that we do not speak Hindi, hence we are not a part of India.
