According to a CBS News report, sources said the centerpiece of the plan could be the deployment of the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), an intelligence and elite military unit often tasked with carrying out highly sensitive counter-proliferation missions.
A White House spokeswoman said it was the Pentagon’s job to make such preparations, while a Pentagon spokesperson had no immediate comment.
