Jawad has been arrested in the Money Laundering (PMLA) case. Al Falah University has been in the news since the recent terrorist blast in Delhi. The accused involved in the blast have been found to have connections with this university.

Taking action against Jawad Siddiqui, ED on Tuesday (November 18, 2025) conducted massive raids on 19 locations of Al Falah Group. During the raid operation, the ED team has recovered many important documents, digital devices and about Rs 48 lakh in cash. The investigation also revealed that the trust money was wrongly sent to the family companies.

ED’s investigation exposes many lies of the university

ED’s investigation is based on two FIRs registered by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police. It is alleged in the FIR that Al Falah University located in Faridabad, Haryana falsely claimed that it had the recognition of NAAC. The university also claimed that it is registered under Section 12(B) of the UGC Act, whereas the UGC clearly said that the university comes only under Section 2(f) and it never applied for 12(B). The university took financial advantage by misleading students and parents with fake claims.

Shell companies created for misappropriation of money

According to ED, Al-Falah Charitable Trust was established in 1995 and Jawad Siddiqui has been its managing trustee since its inception. All the colleges and universities running in the name of the Trust are directly under their control. Investigation revealed that the group showed meteoric rise i.e. rapid growth, but this growth did not match the actual earnings.

At the same time, contracts for construction, catering and other services were given directly to the companies of his wife and children. Many shell companies were used to embezzle money. Trust funds were wrongly diverted to the family business.
