The body of a 27 -year -old software professional woman was found hanging at her residence in Sudaguntepalya, South Bengaluru. The woman’s parents have lodged a complaint that she committed suicide after her husband’s family personscurs for dowry continuously for dowry.
The deceased Shilpa was married two and a half years before former software engineer Praveen. The couple has a one and a half year old child. Prior to marriage, Shilpa completed his graduation in engineering and worked as a software engineer in Infosys, while Praveen was working in Oracle. After a year of marriage, he resigned from his job and started the business of food items.
15 lakh rupees found in marriage
According to the complaint, Praveen’s family had initially demanded Rs 15 lakh cash, 150 grams of gold jewelery and household items during the wedding, although these demands were met. Shilpa’s family alleged that the harassment continued and repeatedly additional money and valuables were demanded. Six months ago, the family claimed that he was pressurized to give ₹ 5 lakh to support Praveen’s business.
Girl’s evil about skin color
Shilpa’s parents alleged that she was humiliated for the color of the daughter. The complaint said that her mother -in -law often, “You are black and not a good pair for my son. Leave it, we will find a better bride for her.” Used to torture by saying this.
Case registered for dowry harassment
Police said that a case of dowry harassment and unnatural death has been registered at Suddaguntepalya police station. Praveen has been detained for questioning. An Assistant Police Commissioner is monitoring the investigation. Shilpa’s body has been handed over to her family after the post -mortem.
