The visit of Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Aamir Khan Mottaki will begin a new chapter in relations between India and Taliban. Everyone’s eyes will be set on this visit of Mottaki, which has been possible after the exempted exemption from the Taliban Ban Committee of the United Nations Security Council.
The Taliban Foreign Minister will be in New Delhi from 9 to 16 October. During his visit, he will meet India’s Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. His national security advisor is also likely to meet Ajit Doval. This journey is a diplomatic success, as there have been stressful relations between the two countries for many years.
Terrorism issue will be discussed
The agenda of this journey includes many issues. During the talks, anti-terrorism will be given prominence. There is a similar problem in Pakistan in front of both Afghanistan and India. Therefore, the discussion will mainly focus on ways to strengthen relations in terms of terrorism and security.
Afghanistan will demand discussion on regional security and also raise concerns related to anti-terrorism. During the meetings, business is also expected to be discussed in detail. Both countries can also discuss promoting cross -border trade and opening new trade corridors to remove the obstacles in transport.
Chances of increasing scholarship for Afghan students
Apart from this, the issue of visa quota will also be discussed, which will be helpful for medical travelers, students and businessmen. There is also a possibility of increasing scholarship for Afghan students getting higher education in professional and technical fields from India.
In addition to the demand for cooperation in Afghanistan medical facilities and health missions, the development of infrastructure can focus this discussion on water and electricity areas. At the same time, the two countries may agree to expand the Indian embassy in Kabul, the deployment of full -time ambassadors and the presence of consulates.
Opposition to travel from America and Pakistan
Let me tell you that Mottaki was going to come to India in September earlier, but after the United Nations refuses to give permission, he will now visit India. America and Pakistan were opposing this visit. India’s Foreign Minister Dr. Jaishankar had said that he spoke to Mottaki in May.
He said that this journey is also part of a long diplomatic process. Foreign Secretary Vikram Egypt and Senior IAS officer J.K. Indian officials including P. Singh have held several meetings in the last one year with Muttki and other Taliban leaders at neutral places like Dubai.
Pakistan accused of supporting TTP on Taliban
The Pakistan Taliban is accused of supporting Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), but these claims were denied. Apart from this, China is also befriending the Taliban keeping an eye on resources. This may threaten India’s position in the Central Asian region, so relations in this regard are important.
Mutki has been working as Foreign Minister since the return of his soldiers from the US in 2021. He attended a tripartite meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. During that meeting, it was agreed to expand the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Project in Afghanistan. Keeping all these things in mind, Mottaki’s journey is important for India and many people will keep an eye on this meeting.
