New Delhi. Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni is crazy about bikes. His bike collection has many vintage and high-performance bikes from companies like Ducati, Kawasaki, Harley-Davidson, Yamaha. Now a video is going viral on social media, in which Dhoni is riding a Yamaha bike. It is a classic style bike with features like round headlight, teardrop fuel tank, chrome exhaust, wire-spoke wheels. Very few people have seen this bike before now. This is the reason why everyone wants to know which bike this is. The features and looks of this bike are matching with Yamaha SR400.

Yamaha SR400 is a classic retro-style motorcycle. This bike is inspired by the universal Japanese motorcycles of the 1970s. It was first manufactured in 1978 and its production was stopped by Yamaha in 2021, because it was a bike with old technology and did not match the new emission standards. This bike was very popular for customization. Yamaha SR400 was never officially launched in India. However, it can be imported.

Features of Yamaha SR 400

Yamaha SR400 is not just a motorcycle, but is like a ‘time machine’ in the world of two-wheelers. Its biggest feature is its 399cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This 4-stroke SOHC engine generates power of 23 hp and torque of 27 Nm. The tuning of this bike has been done in such a way that it gives tremendous response even at low speed, which makes it ideal for city roads.

While today’s bikes are loaded with high-tech features, the SR400 is very simple. It does not have the option of electric start and starts with kick. Talking about its suspension setup, non-adjustable telescopic forks are provided at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear, which ensure a balanced ride on bumpy roads.

It has a signature teardrop fuel tank, round headlight and shining chrome exhaust. For safety, there is a combination of single disc at the front and drum brake at the rear. Interestingly, it does not use ABS or any kind of modern electronics, making it “old school” in the true sense.

140 kmph top speed

In terms of performance, this bike can go up to a top speed of 130-140 km/hr, but its real fun lies in relaxed riding at a speed of 70 to 100 km/hr. Talking about the price, its price in international markets (like US) has been around $6,000 (about Rs 5 lakh). If it is imported into India, it becomes more expensive due to import duty.
