The Modi government has given a gift to the government employee waiting for an increase in dearness allowance before Diwali. The government has increased the dearness allowance of central employees by 3 percent. This increase will be considered effective from 1 July 2025. This has been increased in dearness allowance before festivals like Dussehra and Diwali.
48 lakh employees will benefit
The arrears of July, August and September will be given to the central employees with the salary of October just before Diwali. With this, this rate increased from 55 percent of basic salary and pension to 58 percent. This increase will be applicable to all central government employees as well as pensioners and family pensioners under the Seventh Pay Commission. About 49.2 lakh employees and 68.7 lakh pensioners will benefit from this increase.
Dearness allowances are amended twice a year by the government. This is the increase in the second dearness allowance of this year. This amendment is expected to be final under the Seventh Pay Commission.

57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas Approval
Apart from this, the Union Cabinet has approved 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “The Union Cabinet has approved 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in 17 states/union territories, which are being covered. 20 KV is proposed to open in districts where there is no KV currently. 14 KV in aspirational districts, 4 KV Vampanti extremism is proposed in the affected districts and in 5 KV North Eastern/Pahari areas.”
Decided to increase MSP of rabi crops
The central government has decided to increase the minimum support price (MSP) of Rabi crops. On cabinet decisions, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “The estimated purchase during Rabi season 2026-27 is likely to be 297 lakh metric tonnes and the amount to be paid to farmers on the proposed MSP is Rs 84,263 crore.”
