After the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditva, India has now come forward to help Sri Lanka. India has started Operation Sagar Bandhu. On Friday, many important aids including relief material have been sent by the government to Sri Lanka. Here, PM Modi has assured Sri Lanka of all possible help.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India will provide more assistance to Sri Lanka to deal with the situation. He said- My heartfelt condolences to the people of Sri Lanka who have lost their loved ones due to Cyclone Ditva. I pray for the safety, solace and speedy recovery of all the affected families.

Major devastation has been seen in Sri Lanka due to the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditva. In this, 56 people have died due to landslides and floods. Official information has been shared by the Sri Lankan side. It has been told that more than 43,900 people from 12,313 families have been affected by the bad weather. Sri Lanka’s Disaster Management Center has said that 46 cases of death have been registered in the last 72 hours.

In view of the emergency, the Sri Lankan government has declared Friday a public holiday except for essential services.

Help provided by INS Vikrant and INS Udayagiri

India has provided this help to its neighboring country Sri Lanka through its most powerful warships INS Vikrant and INS Udayagiri. Also, these warships were deployed to help the Sri Lankan Navy. They were deployed in Colombo on 25-26 November. The Sri Lankan Navy had made a formal request for the use of the aircraft.

India’s Defense Ministry informed that a formal request was made for the aircraft of INS Vikrant for relief due to the storm in the eastern Ninkomali area of ​​Sri Lanka.
